I loved the game! I really liked the way the game's monster appears where it shouldn't, and also the way we walk outside the house, but we hear it inside the game too.
This was a real gem of an indie horror and has legs to be expanded upon. Some moments of genuine heightened tension! The sounds were sparsely used but effective. Would have loved to know more about the main protagonist and the horror game itself - where did he get it from? Why was he targeted? Enjoyed the melding of the fantasy world of the game into the reality of the guy playing it.
Pros:
Great mechanic of playing the game within the game and the end element had me glued to the screen!
Sounds were used sparingly but effectively. Genuinely made me feel tense when fixing the fuse box!
Ambiguous lore that left me wanting more...
Cons:
Little rough round the edges, i.e. the sparse flat/apartment - felt like there could have been some fleshing out with this
Likewise, when stepping outside the house it seemed a little self-contained
Great game - looking forward to more in the future!
The in-game/out-game while still being very much in-game aspect of this game worked wonders. The puzzle elements made me think [always a good thing], the texturing is/was perfect and the story itself, compelling.
So, I have nothing but praise for 'The Horror Within,' will give you a 5 star rating and follow your guys to see when future enthralling games may see the day of light.
I didn't run into any bugs, hiccups or other snags, so kudos to all involved/ Well done!
Amazing game! Not this game. I'm talking about the other game. The game, inside the game I'm playing. The Horror Within game. It's ok if you don't know the name of the game. Fantastic game!!! GAME, GAME, GAME, AND GAME!!!
This was an awesome little experience! The sound effects were great and it had some nice tension. The way everything interacted was super unique and the end was awesome and unexpected. Great job!
Hey! Hope you don't mind that I made this vid, thank you for watching the stream when I played this! Was super cool of you to stop by. Looking forward to your next project! Loved the concept.
As someone who loves Escape Room type games, this one does something I have never seen which make it a must and such a unique joy to play
allowing you to control two characters at the same time, your main character and the character's main character
definately a high score on the scare factor even if it was a simple peek it was the buildup and looking around that made the scares have such a big impact
I enjoyed playing this a lot! The creature model was very spooky. I especially liked hearing sounds from outside the house while moving within the game, and being able to look around and see what might be getting close! I'm looking forward to your future games. :3
Words cannot express how good the scares were in this game, granted I get scared easily, but absolutely amazing and fun to play through, borderline made me cry lol, Dev if anything just watch my reaction to the first 10 seconds of my playthrough, I think you'll get a laughPlease keep making games you deserve a follow
This was pretty cool! Loved how at the end the game ported the character into reality outside of the house, really loved that whole idea. Made a video on it.
Really nice little game! I loved the atmosphere and the sounds going on! I really enjoyed this! here is my playthrough, with final thoughts at the end!
relly good game, the moment when you see the creature outside the door is incredible, i really like the desing of the monster, is so unnerving and out of place
Great game, man! The way you set up the seamless transition from the real world into the game world was ingenious. As a fellow developer, I was wondering if I could get some insight into how you set that up?
Now, I have to be honest, I expected a very silly game, especially because of the premise - a character, in the house, playing a game, same old story. Yet, my expectations were shattered in a good way, as I felt terror and tension throughout the entire experience.
What makes the game unique is the mechanics. Switching from a monitor to the real world was a superb choice. I looked around a lot, because I expected something to creep up on me. The atmosphere was amazing. The sound design and in game movement was alright. The only minor complaint I have is the sensitivity of the mouse, which I was unable to control. Puzzles were simple, fun at times, but very unnerving towards the end.
Overall, great execution Pollero! Good job. Best to you and your future developments. Cheers!
